GHR World Cup Show

Grampian Hospital Radio, like the rest of the planet, is going World Cup crazy this summer.

Join our breakfast show host Charlie Allan for two hours of football fun to help enhance your enjoyment of the tournament, being hosted in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 19 through to July 12.

Scotland have qualified for the first time in 28 years, so enjoy some of the Tartan Army’s traditional anthems and a selection of the other tunes that are sure to have the stadiums rocking over in North America.

There’s also exclusive chats with Aberdeen and Scotland legends Jim Leighton and Joe Harper.
Jim and Joe deliver their verdicts on how they think Steve Clarke’s side will get on when they face Haiti , Morocco and mighty Brazil in the group stages.

The Pittodrie cult heroes reminisce about their own appearances for Scotland at the World Cup finals.

They also recall what it was like to record two of the Scotland’ squad’s most iconic World Cup songs … and name the music legends they met while appearing on the BBC’s Top of the Pops in the 1970s and 1980s.

The Granite City’s most famous footballing son, Denis Law, also makes an appearance, in an archive interview speaking about how much playing for his country meant to him.

Our resident fitba fanatic Charlie brings a flavour of the World Cup right to your bedside, with loads of fun facts as well as great music.

It’s the show even non-football fans won’t want to miss.
